Allegra 180mg – Fexofenadine Hydrochloride Tablets

WHAT IS THIS MEDICATION FOR?
Allegra 180mg is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), including sneezing, runny nose, itchy throat, and watery eyes. It also helps manage skin allergies like chronic urticaria (hives).

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Allegra contains Fexofenadine Hydrochloride, a non-drowsy antihistamine. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a natural substance responsible for allergic symptoms.

HOW TO USE?
Take one tablet of Allegra 180mg once daily, preferably with water. Take it at the same time each day. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

SIDE EFFECTS
Common: Headache, dizziness, nausea, dry mouth
Rare: Fatigue, rash, or trouble sleeping
Inform your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen.

WHAT TO DO IF I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

PRECAUTIONS

• Use with caution in patients with kidney problems

• Avoid taking antacids (with aluminum/magnesium) within 2 hours of this medication

• Not recommended for children under 12 unless advised by a doctor

Seek immediate help if you experience allergic reactions like rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.

CAN I TAKE IT WITH OTHER MEDICINES?
Inform your doctor if you are taking:

• Antacids

• Erythromycin

• Ketoconazole
  These may affect how Allegra is absorbed or metabolized.

FOOD RESTRICTIONS
Avoid grapefruit juice, apple juice, and orange juice, as they may reduce the effectiveness of the medication. Take with water.

HOW TO STORE
Store at room temperature (15–30°C) in a dry place away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

PREGNANCY CATEGORY
Category C – Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a doctor.
